Playground Fundraiser
Our beloved playground was first established in 1992. New play structures were added in 1997 and 2011, with minimal improvements in the meantime. Since the initial installation, many children and families have touched the wooden boards and slides creating formative memories and experiences.
Now is the time to create a new space on the playground for even more children to enjoy! We would greatly appreciate it if you would consider donating to Westminster School for Young Children to enhance our playground and create opportunities for future Westminster children. None of this will be possible without the generous support of the WSYC community! Please forward the link on to your family, friends, relatives, neighbors, etc. In addition to phase one of this playground renovation, WSYC will also be hosting an Eagle Scout project this summer to improve the playground area, which includes a new mud kitchen, slope slide, tree cookie patio, and picnic tables.

​One More Day is an opportunity for the students to be with their friends to play mainly outside (weather permitting) while being supervised by a team of WSYC Advisory Board Members and approved Substitutes from 9:00am-12:00pm for $50. The money raised go towards our scholarship fund with tuition assistance for students to attend WSYC in future years. Our Carol Van Hise Scholarship Fund was established in 1994 with the recognition of her 25th anniversary as Director of Westminster School for Young Children. We thank her for over 50 years of love, nurture, and guidance to the students, and many thanks to the families who have made donations to our Scholarship Fund over the years through participation in our Spirit Events.

If you are interested in registering your child, please fill out the One More Day Registration Form and pay the non-refundable $50 per day online (with a convenience fee already added), by cash or check made out to WSYC. Age groups may be determined based upon the number of children in attendance. Please bring a labeled water bottle and extra change of clothes (plus diapers and wipes if needed).​
Where: WSYC Fellowship Hall
When: Friday, 12/13 - Doors open at 5:30 and the movie will start promptly at 6pm.
Details: Wear your favorite holiday pajamas and bring a pillow and/or blanket to get cozy! You may also bring a picnic style dinner. We have a $20 suggested donation per family which will include light snacks and hot chocolate. All money raised goes toward the Carol Van Hise Scholarship Fund.

We are partnering with the Durham YMCA in giving back and creating a brighter holiday for children and families. We are accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys and gift cards to support our community during the holiday season!

Grab and ornament off of the tree starting 12/3/24! Each ornament represents a gift for one of the families in Durham. Our goal is to make sure each student receives a set of clothes and a toy/games to help support the holidays.

Return all unwrapped gifts to the WSYC office no later than 12/13/24.
We would like to invite you to our Christmas Celebrations in the WPC Sanctuary on Wednesday, December 18th at 10:30am. Our Turtles, Frogs, Ducks, and Llamas are practicing some songs for this event.

We will dismiss ALL the students at 11:00am that day immediately following the celebration. Please dress your child in their Holiday attire.
