Celebrating 50 Years with Carol Van Hise
2019 marks Westminster’s 50th anniversary, and coincidentally the retirement of Carol Van Hise, who has served 50 years at Westminster. Carol was hired in 1969 to assist in starting our school. After teaching a Kindergarten Class and serving as Assistant Director, she became the Director in 1972. Since then, she has continued working at our School in various roles, but perhaps parents and children will best remember her roles and talents as Mother Goose, the Halloween parade Witch, gifted artist and master baker.
Send Well Wishes
Continue Carol’s Legacy by Donating to the Carol Van Hise Scholarship Fund
Please share well wishes with Carol on her retirement by sending remarks or a card to Kathy Stickley. There are some cards you can use for this on the entry table in the Mission Center. These will be presented in an album at her Retirement Celebration on Saturday, May 4, from 2 to 5 p.m. We also invite donations to the Carol Van Hise Scholarship Fund, payable in cash, check or online. See Kathy for a receipt.
25 years ago, Carol made it her mission to create a scholarship fund to provide early childhood education to families who need financial assistance.
Since then, the Carol Van Hise Scholarship Fund has supported more than 125 families.
Three children need financial aid to attend our school next fall. Five families are already funded but resources in our fund are nearly depleted.
DONATE TODAY to continue Carol’s legacy of providing early childhood education to families in need.
About the Fund
$10 of Registration fees goes into this fund. All other monies are raised from fundraising events, namely Spirit Nights, and personal donations.
An Advisory Board committee meets yearly to review applications and award funding. All information is confidential.
While the Fund has been well resourced for 25 years, we have exhausted funds and need your help in creating a foundation to sustain the Fund for years to come.
Please spread the word to friends, businesses and neighbors who can help.
